hearts to Boston

the tragic event that took place earlier today had my heart in pieces. 
two bomb explosions went off at the Marathon in Boston killing 3 and injuring almost a hundred people. I am still in a complete shock over the news, hearing a friend of mine was there and having her father be in the marathon and finish right before the bombing was so humbling to hear that he was okay, though still heart broken hearing and seening the others hurting.  
I want to send my prayers to those who were affected by the bombing, God bless. I pray for protection and strength for everyone and our country. It is more than certain that an evil force is at work in our nation, just so much more sorrow. I lift up my prayers to our Lord asking to heal the hearts and comfort those affected

beanie and sparkles

//tis the season to wear beanies// falalalalala  this morning woke up to the lovely sound of rain hitting my window, and I couldn't help jumping out of bed and playing my play list of Christmas music with the weather getting colder its now time to officially bring out the beanies and the fun outfits of sparkles  yes I said sparkles, not sequence sparkles my friends  today is reserved for some yummy coffee, homework and my Christmas music  happy day!

Valentines Day Kisses {cookie style}

baking for others is always the best and Valentines day is the best time to share lots of treats  this year I made sugar cookies in the shape of Hersey Kisses and some heart shaped ones these were so fun to make, very messy but that's what made it so fun! they made not have turned out exactly perfectly shaped but its the thought that counts ;) Cookie Recipe   1 cup (2 sticks) of real butter (I used salted) 1 1/2 cups of confectioner's sugar 1 egg 2 teaspoons flavoring extract (I used Almond) 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream together butter and sugar.  In a separate bowl, combine the egg and flavoring.  Combine butter and egg mixtures and beat until fully incorporated.  In another separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients and add to butter an egg mixture in three intervals.  Mix until dough is pliable but not sticky.  Roll out dough*
