weekend in sunny Santa Barbara

Sorry for the long absent, to all my followers (mom, aunt missy?) Well I have a been busy bee over here with getting ready for finals and a quick trip to Santa Barbara to visit Mitchell. I wanted to go up to see him since well I missed him, he always has fun stuff to do over there, and it would be my last time to see him before he heads to New Zealand! I know isnt he the luckiest...
Anyways
I packed up my stuff after class and drove the coast up to Santa Barbara. It is one of my favorite drives ever. Once I got there the weekend was non stop, no sleep, adventurous fun. Since there is just too much to say and I don't want to bore you anymore here is what my weekend consisted of in a nutshell with our daily adventures and my favorite stops.
-dinner at Hollister Brewery 
-lots of bike rides
-visits to Blenders
-a hike/run to the prettiest overlook, funny story to the run, I am pretty out of shape I guess cause I threw up a couple times half way in the run... I am a beast or just pathetic.. I choose beast
-movie night 
-beach volleyball
-beach day
-chill day doing homework, laundry, and YouTube videos
-night out for Austins 21st!!!
-church and a Costco run

It was such a fun filled long weekend and it was so sad to leave. But I am so happy for the time I got to spend there even if once I got home I realized that I wasn't feeling well....
Yeap I got a nasty cold, probably from lack of sleep and non stop going. 
Worth it?
Absolutely

beanie and sparkles

//tis the season to wear beanies// falalalalala  this morning woke up to the lovely sound of rain hitting my window, and I couldn't help jumping out of bed and playing my play list of Christmas music with the weather getting colder its now time to officially bring out the beanies and the fun outfits of sparkles  yes I said sparkles, not sequence sparkles my friends  today is reserved for some yummy coffee, homework and my Christmas music  happy day!

Valentines Day Kisses {cookie style}

baking for others is always the best and Valentines day is the best time to share lots of treats  this year I made sugar cookies in the shape of Hersey Kisses and some heart shaped ones these were so fun to make, very messy but that's what made it so fun! they made not have turned out exactly perfectly shaped but its the thought that counts ;) Cookie Recipe   1 cup (2 sticks) of real butter (I used salted) 1 1/2 cups of confectioner's sugar 1 egg 2 teaspoons flavoring extract (I used Almond) 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Cream together butter and sugar.  In a separate bowl, combine the egg and flavoring.  Combine butter and egg mixtures and beat until fully incorporated.  In another separate bowl, sift together dry ingredients and add to butter an egg mixture in three intervals.  Mix until dough is pliable but not sticky.  Roll out dough*
